Many people flooring is supposed to be a recent phenomenon, but the fact of the matter is flooring is not a new term. Flooring has existed since the pre-biblical periods. Flooring comes in many types such as quick step laminate flooring, tiling and vinyl flooring. Let’s have a discussion on the following: –
1. Quick step laminate flooring– This type of flooring is also known as plywood flooring. This wood is a sheet material created from thin layers of wood veneer that are glued together.
2. Vinyl flooring- This is a type of flooring in which the floor is quite flexible in nature and the floor has elasticity. It has the quality to bounce back making this type of flooring is quite resilient in nature.
3. Tiling- as the name suggests is a type of flooring in which tiles are used to make up the surface. There are various types of tiles available which make up the floors.
Now, let’s recap a bit about the general history of flooring.
1. In several Egyptian cultures, the floor is first cleared and sand is put on the surface. After that the person of the family walks on it to compress out the whole material. That person then clears the whole sand and another fresh layer of sand or soil is put down. Again, the person or any individual walks on it in order to level out the surface. A fresh layer of sand is put in order to create the surface. This is how the floor is created.
2. In several Native American cultures, the floor is created by putting waste on the surface. Then someone walks on the waste to compress the surface. This is how the first layer is created. Then this waste is removed and the rubbish cleared, finally another layer of waste is put and the waste is walked upon to compress the floor. This creates the final layer of floor and finally herbs like mint is added to remove the bad odour.
3. In some countries like India, floor is created by putting flowers on the floors and decorating them with colours. This is known as a rangoli. This helps in creating beautiful flooring.
So, as we can see that floors help in increasing the style quotient of the houses and increase its value.
